Description

Developed LivePoly, an online Monopoly-inspired board game where players create private rooms, compete against friends or autonomous bots, acquire and develop properties, negotiate trades, participate in auctions, and manage their finances to become the last player standing.

Highlights

  • Developed LivePoly, an online Monopoly-inspired board game where players create private rooms, compete against friends or autonomous bots, acquire and develop properties, negotiate trades, participate in auctions, and manage their finances to become the last player standing.
  • Engineered a server-authoritative game engine in TypeScript and NestJS with deterministic rules for movement, ownership, building, mortgages, debt resolution, and bankruptcy.
  • Designed real-time gameplay with Socket.IO and Redis, including spectators, presence tracking, reconnection, event recovery, and synchronized state across concurrent players.
  • Implemented durable PostgreSQL persistence, game snapshots, and BullMQ workflows for bots, turn timers, game expiry, notifications, results, and leaderboards.
  • Deployed containerized services on AWS with automated CI/CD and backups, integrated Cloudflare R2 for user image storage, added New Relic observability, and delivered an installable React PWA through Vercel.
